Descanso Front Entry Garden — La Cañada, CA

A horticultural feat and feast!

It started with the need to allocate brown reclaimed water and perishing redwood trees and an excellent opportunity to collaborate with the Horticulture team at Descanso Gardens on botanical and horticultural best practices. Our impute and collaboration brought thought leadership to Descanso with the introduction of Hügelkultur practices (considerable composting mounds, building healthy soils, reclaiming on-site natural waste, increasing biodiversity, and sequestering carbon), mainly using California native plants, and meeting the requirements of minimal maintenance.

The result is dignified of a botanical institution, a true horticultural feat that is a successful garden.
